People's Tribunal was shocked with murder

Vasantha Kumar (pic above) in his statutory declaration today told The People's Tribunal on the 13th General Elections that his security aide, K. Murugan, 36. Was murdered.

Vasantha, PKR's Tapah Parliament candidate, told the Tribunal that Murugan had spoken to him concerning receiving phone calls for 4 continuous days from 27th April to 30th April 2013.

Among the death threats he received were that he would be killed, shot or slashed by "parang".

The phone calls Murugan received include the following:
1. Call from a person known to Murugan from a mobile phone number belonging to a BN supporter.
2. Call from an unknown person which appeared as "Private Call", who identified himself as a BN supporter.

"Murugan was a resident in Taman Sri Bidor, Tapah. He was known by many in Tapah area. 500 people attended the ceramah in Taman Sri Bidor on the 1st May 2013. Thanks to Murugan's effort.
Murugan received various threats from the opposing campaigners to stop organising the ceramah and to stop supporting me (Vasantha). Murugan's disappearance on 1st May 2013 and the discovery of his baby on the 5th May 2013 stirred fear, anxiety and guilt among voters in Tapah to vote for PKR," said Vasantha Kumar.

Vasantha (pic left lower corner) agreed with Prof Gurdial Singh Nijar (pic right upper corner, see head and microphone) from University Malaya's Law Faculty leading the legal team presenting the evidence that  on the 5th May 2013, the polling day of the 13th general election, Murugan's floating body was found in a pond near Batu Gajah. He was brutally murdered. His hands and legs were tied with 52kg of steel wires and dumped into the pond nearby Kawasan Industri Bemban, Batu Gajah.

The post-mortem report on 6th May 2013 stated that there was signs of battery on the head and it was estimated that he had died about 5 days ago. The Police has classified this case as a murder.

Up to today, the police has not come out with any new finding.

Vasantha was defeated by BN's Datuk M. Saravanan in the May 5th polls, Saravanan won win a 7,927 vote majority.
