How Lee Kuan Yew sees Malaysia in 20 years' time

(By TAY TIAN YAN/Translated by DOMINIC LOH/Sin Chew Daily)

The Bumiputra affirmative action policy has destroyed one generation of Malays .... they don’t know how to be competitive. The sad thing is that they don’t realized that the longer they keep at it, in the ultimate long run .... they are "killing" themselves. The day of reckoning will come and history will be re-written on how Malaysian fore-fathers failed the nation. The intent may be good, but the execution and policy has been a disaster.
Share LKY's view and I know this is what UMNO wants! (remember the keris waving?!) Then they can have everything and no need to share - and then they can fight among themselves!

The clear and present danger
If the Doomsday prediction never comes true, New Zealand will remain as picturesque after a hundred years, with cows and goats roaming all over the country sparsely populated by humans.

A hundred years later, Singapore 's foundation will remain rock solid. The tiny city-state will continue to lure new immigrants, and many new-generation Singaporeans will see their lineages traced back to those of migrants.

How about Malaysia a hundred years from now? Lee Kuan Yew did not seem to see things that far. He only set his sight 20 years later. He said all constituencies in Malaysia would be dominated by the Malays in 20 years' time, and the leadership in this country would value the Chinese population less and less.

The Chinese population would continue to slide, he added, not because of the pathetically low fertility rates among the Chinese in this country, but because those who could afford would have sent their children overseas, who would decide not to come back.

"And those migrating to Malaysia will be from Islamic states, making the country's Islamisation inclination more and more pronounced."
Statistics don't lie, and the current political and social ecosystems are not here without a reason. MM Lee's predictions are by no means novel. But his well-thought remarks have touched the hearts of many a Malaysian.

If this is what the country should look like 20 years from now, we can imagine Chinese Malaysians to be like apes in a forest sanctuary a hundred years down the road, where we need to sharpen our eyesight to carefully scan through the entire swathe of forest before we can catch a glimpse of one or two of them.

That comparison is, most certainly, exaggerated, but I really hope we will not be reduced to a rare species by then. The ratio of Chinese population in this country has been on steady decline over the decades; so has their political status here. Very soon, they will be completely engulfed by the powerful waves of aggressive Islamisation.

This is the pessimistic side of the outlook of their destiny. But Chinese Malaysians cannot afford to go on this way, and wait helplessly for such a destiny to befall them. They have to take the initiative to accentuate their own strengths and be in firm control of their own fates before they can divert such a predestination.

The next ten years will be key to the future destiny of Chinese Malaysians. If the country's policies get more and more ethnically-oriented and religiously inclined, the future of Chinese community is well within our imagination, and Chinese Malaysians will exit the country in droves.

On the other hand, if community-centric ideologies get diluted, conflicts between mainstream and minority races get thinned down, the common Malaysian identity gets consolidated, and the spirit of secularity stays very much relevant, then Chinese Malaysians will have a much more promising future here. So will Malaysia.

Whatever happens to this country or our society, the most important element for new-generation Chinese to secure a place in this land, will be their very own competitiveness. In this age of globalization, when national boundaries are increasingly obscured, people will find a greener pasture beyond our shores if our internal conditions remain this bleak.

We cannot afford to talk about what will happen to us a hundred years
from now. We need to buck up and fight for our near-term opportunities.
Meaningless and unnecessary squabbles, like the one currently taking place within MCA, will only serve to bog down the pace of the Chinese community further, blurring their vision of the clear and present danger.

What the Chinese community urgently needs right now is high-caliber and farsighted leadership, not one engrossed with endless infighting.

People's Tribunal wraps up

The People's Tribunal on the 13th General Elections has concluded it's five days hearing after receiving 70 statutory declarations and hearing 49 testimonies of the Malaysian public.

Closing submission was presented by Professor Gurdial Singh Nijar yesterday, 27 September 2013.

A free and fair, a level playing field is intrinsic to all human beings. It is the will of the people who want one person one vote with the same weight.

People want a genuine election where their will are represented in choosing representatives of their choices.

How has the 13th GE been conducted?

The People Tribunal found that there have been lots of irregularities, manipulation and frauds.

The 49 testimonies attesting to irregularities and manipulation of different types namely in the area of:
1. Election law
2. EC
3. Electoral roll
4. Gerrymendering

1. Election Law. The Law gives overwhelming
power to the EC (Election Commission) where there are areas which cannot be contested in the Court of Law. In other word, some grievances cannot be reviewed because the Law is all for EC, whatever their decision, it is final.

For example, I quote "The decision of the returning officer shall be final and conclusive  for the purpose of the election in respect of which the proceeding are being held, and shall not be called in question in any court" (Elections Regulations 1981, 7 (5)).

Another example, the electoral roll after being published shall be final and binding and shall but be questioned or appealed against in, or reviewed, quashed or set aside by, any court. (Election Acts 1958 9A).

2. EC
We have heard testimonies how EC have not acted professionaly and in a non partisan way. The EC Press statements had been bias and they spoke as though they were Government servants.

3. Electoral roll
The whole process of the election had lots of irregularities.
To begin with the electoral roll had leave much to be desired. We heard testimonies where there were 60 names in one house. Many names without complete address. Addresses that did not exist.

4. Gerrymandering is of the worst order. there are the people in the same Taman, even same house but voting in 2 different constituencies. There were even many cases that EC has delineated the constituencies by drawing the boundaries across the bed separating the family, even rehusband and wife.

If there was a fair and free contest, PR would have been the new government.

The questions  that are repeatedly asked: What to do next? Will there be any use?

If there is no level playing field, we are afraid we will be back to square one in the 14th. GE.

Now we are waiting for the Panel of the Tribunal to give us its report and suggestions what to do next. It had been given 3 months to do it. That will be in December 2013. We will take it from there.

Dr Toh, 3 terms counsellor in the Gerakan Penang government testified that the special branch police gave reports periodically to the CM concerning the people response to the government policies confirming our view that the police instead of focusing on security have been busy gathering political information for the UMNO Baru government.

Independant Journalists and researchers testified of how bias the main stream media was resulting that those rural population who have no access to online media were not able to have accurate information to make the appropriate choice of party.

Teenage thief bashes cop to death while high on Methamphetamine .

Malacca: A 17year-old theft suspect, high on syabu, mercilessly bludgeoned a policeman to death in Taman Teknology
Cheng yesterday.

Shabu, or "ice" is a drug, Methamphetamine abused by addicts.

Hostility is a main characteristic of this drug. In contrast to Morphine or Heroine, Opioid class of drug, the addicts are docile or complying in character.

Hope that our police are well informed on such fact so that extra precaution is taken when dealing with such suspect .

My sympathy and condolences to the family members of Lance Corporal Zal Azri Abd Soma, 31, (pic) died on the spot of fatal head injury.

What bother me is that why this police is alone?

Is he not armed?

Although a Syabu addict is hostile, it is highly unlikely to be killed by an escaping addict.

I am sure the family of the deceased  police need an in-depth investigation to find out the actual cause and circumstance of the fatal injury.

Chin Peng RIP. Ash denied home coming stirred up more attention .

Chin Peng finally laid to rest.

The eldest son, 王武國(Wang Woo Kok) led the funeral procession.

Well washers and friends who came to say the final goodbye, some with tears. According to Sin Chew reporter who was around the funeral for the  past few  days reported that many of his comrades gave Chin Peng revered honour still refer him as 陈总/老总(Boss Chin/ Boss Buddy)

The final funeral service was conducted in this temple in Thailand.

Chin Peng's loved ones said goodbye with tears and sadness

Chin Peng fought the Japanese during the Japanese occupation during the Second World War .
The returning British Government honour him with medal.

He signed the Peace accord with Malaysia.

However, his wish to return to his childhood home at Sitiawan was denied in his final year alive.

Surprisingly, his remainder ash after cremation has been denied to return!

Reasons?

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that it is believed that his ash may be used to build Memorial Building, this will give Chin Peng affirmation.

What is very odd is that, after the Peace Accord many of his comrades have been allowed to return to Malaysia but he was refused .

Now his ash also is being denied entry. What a terrible joke. It has become a laughing stock. This has caused more publicity instead.

If people really want to affirm Chin Peng, his ash is not needed to build a memorial building.
Looked like Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is giving suggestion to people. With such unjust policy, I am afraid he may get what he fears.

Have the police caught all the gangsters in the street?

Reported in Sinchew today, 24 Sept 2013, that in a Police operation named OPS CANTAS KHAS from 17 August till 18 Sept, police has arrested 8898 people in connection to gangsterism.

Looked like, there have been for a long time, the police are not active. Lately, are they having spring cleaning on gangsterism ?

Or are they arbitrarily rounding them up?

You don't blame the people for such perception. How not to?

We see police recently were the judges as well as the executioners by terminating 5 so called Indian gangsters in their sleep at 4am when they raided the house. How can they do that? Is ours a police state?

Recently, there were lots of people with tattoo find themselves in panic because they are afraid to be caught by police.

The moral of the story is, do not tattoo yourself!

What if you already have one. What to do?
If our friend come for you, face them in court to see in which law, the people is not suppose to have tattoo?

Former foes hold no grudges against Chin Peng, they want to move on

Former foes hold no grudges against Chin Peng, they want to move on

My sympathy and condolences to Mr Chin Peng's loved ones.

How I wish that he could have his wish of returning granted when he was alive; and now he is dead, his last wish to have his ashes be returned to his beloved land is still being denied.
This is injustice!

Chin Peng was honoured by the returning British Government for fighting the Japanese.
Chin Peng signed the Peace Accord with Malaysia, after that many of his comrades including Malays had been allowed to return home to their Malaysian homes. I cannot understand why Chin Peng was denied.

Anwar tells of special task force to issue ICs to foreigners in Sabah

Thanks to Anwar for telling us more detail what is going on when he was in Umno concerning this project IC .
Unfortunately, Mahathir had chose to evade the questions put forward to him. As long as Umno is in power, Mahathir is free to do so. RCI is useless in this present corrupted regime!
It look like Umno can get away with whatever it likes because it is ruling.
The hope for remedy for many ills in our nation is a change of power.

People's Tribunal was shocked with murder

Vasantha Kumar (pic above) in his statutory declaration today told The People's Tribunal on the 13th General Elections that his security aide, K. Murugan, 36. Was murdered.

Vasantha, PKR's Tapah Parliament candidate, told the Tribunal that Murugan had spoken to him concerning receiving phone calls for 4 continuous days from 27th April to 30th April 2013.

Among the death threats he received were that he would be killed, shot or slashed by "parang".

The phone calls Murugan received include the following:
1. Call from a person known to Murugan from a mobile phone number belonging to a BN supporter.
2. Call from an unknown person which appeared as "Private Call", who identified himself as a BN supporter.

"Murugan was a resident in Taman Sri Bidor, Tapah. He was known by many in Tapah area. 500 people attended the ceramah in Taman Sri Bidor on the 1st May 2013. Thanks to Murugan's effort.
Murugan received various threats from the opposing campaigners to stop organising the ceramah and to stop supporting me (Vasantha). Murugan's disappearance on 1st May 2013 and the discovery of his baby on the 5th May 2013 stirred fear, anxiety and guilt among voters in Tapah to vote for PKR," said Vasantha Kumar.

Vasantha (pic left lower corner) agreed with Prof Gurdial Singh Nijar (pic right upper corner, see head and microphone) from University Malaya's Law Faculty leading the legal team presenting the evidence that  on the 5th May 2013, the polling day of the 13th general election, Murugan's floating body was found in a pond near Batu Gajah. He was brutally murdered. His hands and legs were tied with 52kg of steel wires and dumped into the pond nearby Kawasan Industri Bemban, Batu Gajah.

The post-mortem report on 6th May 2013 stated that there was signs of battery on the head and it was estimated that he had died about 5 days ago. The Police has classified this case as a murder.

Up to today, the police has not come out with any new finding.

Vasantha was defeated by BN's Datuk M. Saravanan in the May 5th polls, Saravanan won win a 7,927 vote majority.

The People's Tribunal on the 13th General Elections

Wednesday 18 September 2013
Around 200 people from all walks of life have gathered with anticipitation in the ballroom of the EMPIRE HOTEL SUBANG, Selangor, Malaysia this morning starting at 9AM. Ending at 5 something as the panel continued with private viewing of recorded video of a witness who fear repercussion.

I just set through the first day  of hearing today.

The People's Tribunal on the 13th General Elections established by Bersih 2.0 aims to answer the numerous allegations of electoral fraud and irregularities.

The Rakyat wants to know the truth.

Individuals of great repute from overseas and local have been invited to sit as eminent members of the Panel.

The Bersih People's Tribunal panel members - (from left) Dr Hermen Shastri, Azzat Kamaludin, Yash Ghai, Ramlan Surbakti and Mavis Puthucheary.  The presiding panel members of the Bersih People's Tribunal are Yash Pal Ghai, an expert in constitutional law and Head of the Constitution Advisory Support Unit of the UN Development Programme in Nepal, Ramlan Surbakti (former deputy chairman of the Indonesian Election Commission), Kraisak Choonhavan (president of the Asean Inter-Parliamentary Myanmar Caucus, a former Senator and deputy leader of the Democrat Party of  Thailand).
The Malaysian panellists are lawyer and former administrative and diplomatic officer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Azzat Kamaludin, Dr Mavis Puthucheary (former associate professor from the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya) and Rev Dr Hermen Shastri (general secretary of the Council of Churches of Malaysia).

Professor Gurdial Singh, (Standing)A law professor  at the University of Malaya and Director of the Centre of Excellence  for Biodiversity Law, is heading the legal team of 40 volunteer lawyers

Ambiga on the extreme  left.

Today, a total of 7 witnesses gave their evidence.

The first witness: YB Charles Santiago, second term MP of Klang.
He told the panel of 60 names registered as voters in a single house address. When he saw the house owner in his investigation, the house owner did not know about the people with those names.
When the EC officers were confronted with the above case, there sort of admitted of such fraud but nothing can be done because they are protected by the ELECTION LAW that once the names have been gazetted, nothing can be done to remove it and the law is so protective and all comprehensive that there is no recourse !

Charles also brought out 12 cases of individuals who have never registered as voters themselves found that their names have been used to register as voters.

He even  found people physically challenged too have been  registered as voters by other .

Dead people are  still in electoral roll

Charles also told us on:

Phantom voters
Owner of a factory reported migrant workers have been asked to vote with offer of RM500.00 each.

2 Indonesions with police vest got into the polling centre to vote, when Permantau volunteers tried to apprehend them, 3 policemen formed a human ring to help them escape.

Truck loaded with BN logo rice were given generously to people near election.

He also shared concerning :
Bus load of people, phantom voters.
18 foreigners except 1 was Malaysian.
Circling the voting station suspiciously.
The bus window screens were smashed by angry crowd, these people were brought to the police station, police and EC officers did not take any action. Instead 5 ppl among the angry crowd were charged as rioting. The case is pending in court.

He  had the photos of the phantom voters taken, among them A Bangladeshi with indelible ink on his index finger .

Wheel chair elderly disable man helped by daughter on the way to vote.
Daughter was stopped out side the polling centre.
An EC officer instead helped the disable  to mark the cross for BN candidate which is opposite of what the disable man wanted.

Toward the end of the session the panel asked  Charles, why he is working so hard to be a witness since he had won the second term with improved majority.

Charles said:

We want
level playing field .
Election laws are skewed against the opposition.
We want free and fair election.

The second witness:
Mr PY Wong
Civil engineer
Founder of Tindak Malaysia since  2008

He spoke on Design of electoral  frame work purposefully filled with irregularities.

3 areas
1. System
First-Past-The-Post (FPTP)System can be easily manipulated.

Malaysia Electoral Reform Programme
compared to 5 nations among them are namely Australia and other countries . The conclusion was Malaysia is :
Better Than Zimbabwe but worst than Timor
Mr Wong has compiled a book of
204 proposals how to improve our electoral system.

2. The Management of the Election Commission
under the PM department
PM in control

The whole process is control by the PM.

3. EC members were all ex-civil servants.
They serve the Government of the day
The EC top leaders were Umno members a long time ago, they professed that they can't remember which Umno branch they were in.

EC members ideally should command public confidence - surely not political party members .
They perceive themselves as civil servants instead of non-partisan independent institution officers to serve the Rakyat for free and fair election.

Every things we said about them from their own press statements,  we asked them to verify, but up to date there was no response.

Rules and regulations of election
are unfair.

Advance  voting
By military and police numbering
110,000.
Among them,  77,000 are administrative staff. Why all need advance voting.
They are also given option to poster voting.

Postal voters
171,000
not marked with indelible ink. Why?

problems for advance n postal voters, there are numerous.

security of ballot papers kept for 6 days
in police station creat huge gap for fraud.

plastic tag to secure ballot box which can be changed is not fool proved .

Campaign period of 15 days is too short for oversea postal votes to return in time . Mr Wong own daughter voted oversea sent home to PY Wong only reached him after 505!

The third educated, cheerful and  pleasant witness who is visually challenged.
She never registered as voter, worked in KL but found her name registered as voter in Tawau, Sabah.

The 4th Witness and other witnesses
Please go to my Facebook page under my name : Dr Wong Fort Pin

Your scribe at the end of the Tribunal for the day.
More to follow daily till 22 September .

To me, it is clear the govt is NOT INTERESTED IN UNITY - Ambiga slams Najib's bumi plan

"The consensus was that it is unconstitutional because if you read the constitution, there are specifics given as to the kind of incentives that can be given and this falls outside of that. If you look at the 4 corners of the constitution, it doesn't appear to be be what was intended," said Ambiga.

Najib’s New NEP: Step Forwards or Backwards

Najib’s New NEP: Step Forwards or Backwards

In the next few months and years, the ripple effects of Najib’s sucker punch to the nation’s socio-economic development will become clear. Slower economic growth, loss of business confidence, deterioration in the business and social institutions of the country – these and other negative impacts can be expected.

RCI ON PROJECT IC

Hopefully, it will identify the crooks and exonerate those who have been wrongly vilified and provide coherent answers that most Malaysians are asking:
Who should be held responsible for this mess which has been the cause of so much acrimony, hostility, bitterness and ill-will among the legitimate citizens of this blessed land?

Wee, Surendran disappointed with new Bumi plan | theSundaily

PKR vice-president N. Surendran said the plan is "blatantly discriminatory", contravening Article 8 of the Constitution.
"Nothing in the Constitution allows the government to set up massive funds, share schemes, housing developments and contracts for the benefit of only one race," he said in a statement today.

Fresh push for bumis

What a disappointment to have a PM who still implement policies base on race instead of need!

MCAYouth says affirmative action policies should be colour-blind and implement based on merit and needs.

Is Najib rewarding the bumiputras because of political reality or drumming up support for the coming Umno Baru election in October?

Is he turning his back on the 1 Malaysia concept just because it is after the election!?

PAS doubted the successful implementation of plans at the grassroots level. This is because such programmes had always benefitted those who were rich and well connected.

DAP election strategist Dr Ong Kian Meng said the bumiputra agenda was in total contravention of the new economic model.

PKR vice-president Tian Chua said it appeared like it was another exercise to pump money.

"The issue is ...on the success rate of the implementation ...The Government had never came up with an honest assessment on why the NEP failed. To ensure the success of any new policy, we must know what is required to make the changes," he said.

DON'T DELAY NAJIB, accept Anwar's offer for dialogue: Fuel hike shows dire situation - Saifuddin

They (the Umno-BN government) must accept that like it or not, the majority by sheer numbers have said they want a change and there must be a fair exchange. The least we are asking is that we must be heard and I can assure Prime Minister Najib there will be a conducive environment in these sort of exchanges. But I don't think we are going to talk in terms of a national government. Policy issues, economic issues, crime - let us listen and get these going," Anwar had told a press conference after his eve of Merdeka speech.

Anwar Ibrahim triggered the reformasi. Now he needs to rejuvenate it too.

A DAP man tells how Malaysia’s future “is tied to the BN”

A DAP man tells how Malaysia’s future “is tied to the BN”

Are you aware that BN government has all along demands that eg. Hawkers have to get BN ADUN's signature in application for a license? PR ADUN'S signature is useless!

“The BN think the country belongs to them. So that’s why they penalise people who don’t support them. It’s a very immature mindset.”
