Why protest?

Why protest? We are passive as long as we are not directly involved. Why? Simply, it causes us no immediate direct harm. Why go to Bersih ? Let the opposition fight it out, after all they are the ones who will gain from a fair and just election. Why go to pengerang ? After all it is a fishing village far away. Why go for Suaram candle vigil? Nothing to do with me, they can persecute Dr. Kua Kia Soong. It got nothing to do with me. Why join the Dong Zong rally? It is only a Chinese education problem. I prefer the comfort of my home. A story....a rat was so frightened by Madam who came home with a mouse trap. He called a meeting with the chicken, goat and cow. They  were all very passive because they are in no direct, immediate danger. Well, one day a snake was caught in the mouse trap. Before the snake was killed, it bit the hand of Madam. The farmer, slaughtered the chicken for madam to boil herbal soup for her speedy recovery. So many relatives came to visit Madam, the farmer slaughtered the goat to provide a meal for them. Unfortunately, the poison of the snake was too much for Madam, she finally succumbed and died. During the funeral, so many friends and relatives came, the farmer slaughtered the cow to provide a meal for all the guests. Will you remain passive and be in the comfort of the home and let others fight it out in Malaysia? Malaysia is ours, we need to stand up and be counted. When evil befall one of us, it will eventually affect all if we remain passive! Will you join us for Suaram Candle light Vigil at Dataran Merdeka this coming Tuesday? Meet 5PM outside of Wong Clinic, Bukit Baru. Will car pool to KL. Please let me know, will need to take care of the logistics. Please text: 0122691176 or email: fortpin@gmail.com
